As part of MSF’s adaptation of care for our drug-resistant tuberculosis patients due to the risks presented by the COVID-19 virus, in Belarus we have switched to smartphone-enabled technologies to maintain continuity of essential consultations and counselling. Our patient support team has also developed and shared mental health support materials for patients and healthcare workers alike, providing guidance on how to deal with stress in the times of pandemic.
OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE IN BELARUS
Can you make a donation to support our COVID-19 response?
Right now, Médecins Sans Frontières is providing much needed support and medical care in over 30 countries to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our teams are also gearing up to confront potential outbreaks in the hundreds of areas we were already working before the pandemic struck. We are deploying medical staff, sending supplies and applying nearly 50 years of experience fighting epidemics to protect the most vulnerable and save lives.
Can you help increase our capacity to respond by making a donation to our COVID-19 Crisis Appeal?
Belarus has a high rate of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).
MSF is working with the Ministry of Health in Belarus to improve adherence to treatment for patients. We support the Ministry of Health in four TB facilities, providing psychosocial support to patients each month to help them stay on their treatment.
